Monday was, of course, Valentine’s Day. Tim and I didn’t really do much. Work doesn’t stop for Valentine’s Day. I did make breakfast: pink scrambled eggs and heart-shaped toast. Tim pointed out that the pink scrambled eggs looked a lot like scrambled salmon, which pretty much made me lose my appetite. The journalism class made and sold cupcakes to make some money, so I had one sent to Tim. That was pretty much the extent of the Valentine’s Day celebration here in Togiak. (Though, we did take advantage of the half off Valentine’s Day candy at the end of the week.)
Wednesday it snowed all day long. I bet we got close to 10 inches of snow. It has been snowing on and off since. It has been really nice. I love it when it snows. Thursday morning, we got stuck in our own parking lot a couple of times trying to get to school. Luckily 4-wheelers weigh a lot less than cars, so you can pretty much pick up one end and move them if you have a couple of people.
Friday we were given our contracts for next year. To sign or not to sign, that is the question. You should all comment on this page and say what you think we should do. (That doesn’t mean we’ll actually listen to you, but it would be fun to see everyone’s opinions and reasoning, and, who knows, someone might make a very valid and life changing comment.) We have 30 days to return our contracts and I’m pretty sure that we will take all 30 days to decide. We’ve been applying for all job openings in Alaska, Idaho, and Wyoming, but there hasn’t been any exciting news there. There aren’t a ton of job openings this early in the year either. We are totally up in the air at this moment.
Friday night, Tim and I spent the whole evening at home, not doing school work. It was wonderful. We watched the new Karate Kid and ate ice cream. We liked the movie a lot. If you haven’t seen it, you wouldn’t be a bad choice.
Saturday we worked at the school for about 4 hours and then we went over to Robin and Heather’s. They made dinner for us and then we stayed for hours just talking. Eventually we pulled out a puzzle, which made me think of Cynthia. She always seems to be the instigator of doing puzzles in the Hart household. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a puzzle, but it was pretty fun. I have been wanting to go back to their house all day to work on it some more, but I haven’t given in.
Congratulations to Karen and Brad on the new baby! Everyone have a great week and don’t forget to leave your comment!
