Tim has also been pretty faithful on watching what he eats and going to the gym daily. He's been doing 4 miles on the elliptical each day and limiting his calorie intake.
Monday and Tuesday I substituted for a special ed/library assistant at North Fremont. It was a pretty laid back substituting job. All the students were taking finals, so there wasn't much help I could be to them. In the library I just had to check out a student here and there, but mostly I read a book. I read Holes for the first time ever. It was a pretty good book. It was a lot of fun to get to spend some time with my old students and my old coworkers.
Thursday morning Tim spent several hours working with the car. He got a new windshield, changed the oil, and fixed a few other things. Later in the day we both had eye appointments. It turns out that Tim no longer has 20/20 vision. Which is actually normal after having lasik. The eye doctor said that his eyes have changed enough that he may want glasses at night, but they haven't changed enough to warrant having a lasik touch up. It would be more likely that his eyes would end up worse after the touch up if he had one.
Thursday evening Tim and I were able to spend some time with Kathryn and Sarah Mickelson. We definitely miss spending time with those girls and their family. It was good to see them again.
Friday afternoon Tim and I left for Boise. We told my sister, Lisa, that we would watch her kids while she and her husband raced in a half iron man on Saturday. Unfortunately, the weather in Boise was not good on Saturday. It was about 40 degrees, windy, and rainy. Bob and Lisa were considering not racing because of safety (and discomfort on top of that). Just as they were deciding it wasn't worth it, it was announced that due to the risk of hypothermia the biking portion of the race was being cut from 56 miles to 15 miles. The swim and the run would remain the same. This announcement made Lisa and Bob feel a bit better about their decision. When we got back to the hotel, we all got in the hot tub and just relaxed and played. Since Tim and I didn't have to watch the Black kids anymore, we decided to take the opportunity to go see Tim's parents in Zillah.
We got to Zillah on Saturday evening and get to stay until Monday morning. Luckily for us, Tim's sister, Kaylin, is also visiting in Zillah this weekend so we get to see her too.
