This week was particularly nice just because there were no basketball games. This has been the first week since Christmas that we haven’t been missing students 2 or 3 days because they’ve been traveling. Teaching gets difficult when your students miss half the week. Regionals is next week, so there will be quite a few students gone for that, but then we should be done with basketball season. This will be good because the students won’t be traveling, but bad in that they no longer have a reason to keep their grades up.
There’s really not much to report this week. Friday evening and Saturday morning we spent quite a bit of time cleaning our house. We’re trying to prepare for our home study next week. Wish us luck.
Saturday we did some video recording of Togiak. Tim has been asked to make a video for prospective teachers. He drove the 4-wheeler around while I sat on the back with the video camera. We were on our way home when we had our first 4-wheeler “accident”. We hit a patch of ice and the 4-wheeler turned 180 degrees. The 4-wheeler hit the snow bank and throw both Tim and I off. We’re happy to report that we’re both fine, the 4-wheeler is fine, and the video camera is fine.
I taught sharing time for the first time today. It was a little awkward doing it over the phone. The kids were great at participating and giving answers. I felt a little rough on my end though. Hopefully it will smooth out over the next couple of weeks.
